March Family Meeting
Who: All
What: Town Hall / Family Meeting
When: Mid-March
Where: Inn Lobby
Warnings: Child death mentions, torture, body horror. More will be in post titles as they come up.
Silverash will leave a note in the inn's lobby, as well as one in the notebook about a meeting coming up — a town hall to let everyone know what's been going on and gather information between one another. The Guardians, as always, are invited, and Enciodes even lets Ydalir and Heimr know what his plans are, in case they want to attend, though he does mention it might get rather uncomfortable for them, and he understands if they would rather not.
Silverash will use the notes taken at the last town hall and write them down again for all to see and pay attention to. There is a lot of information to note, so he is sure to outline and title all the important things to look at via your own disclosure. (As an OOC note, this is also the IC reasoning of why a lot of this was copy and pasted from the last meeting.)
Our lives as we currently know it, while it did happen, are because of we've originated here at the Grove in a past life. Some sort of ritual was meant to save our souls, thought we physically didn't survive. For the most part, it seems our personalities from our past life carried over somewhat, but overall, it doesn't seem like learning about them in detail provides any information on how to get back to our current home or how to best the creature.
The Shopkeeper and the Trader — They lost their names to the forest, so their new names are Heimr and Ydalir. With this in mind, do not give the forest your name. They cannot be referred to by their old names, but Heimr used to be the person in charge of the Grove and Ydalir his sister.
The Guardians — the Guardians we can currently seek out within the Grove are Zahliya, our small gargoyle friend; Moder, the large moose-like creature; the River Guardian, a fish(?). Treat them respectfully and give them offerings if you require their assistance or plan to take anything that is theirs. There are more guardians outside of the Grove. They're akin to... demigods, in a sense of the word. Moder and the River Guardian used to be corrupted, though on their deaths seemed to have been cleansed of this corruption. Though, going forward, killing the Guardians to purify them may prove detrimental. We simply got lucky with the first two. They were strong enough to revive. If we try again, we might not have this luck.
Zahliya is able able to purify things with some sort of holy magic. However, his purification is not as strong as it needs to be to fully purify something of corruption. As such, it's in our best interest to figure out how to do this so we can use this ability to cleanse other Guardians and residents in the future, like Elsword and Nene. If you know of anything that might be helpful, but don't think it's a good idea for the creature in the forest to know, ask those two to leave, first. They may be on our side, but their corruption lends to the forest being able to listen in anyway.
We've found shards of the sun, the moon, and know of Ydalir's star shards. They seem to be manifestations of holy magic, considering that this world reveres the sun and moon deities. We've given Zahliya the sun shard in hopes it'll help him purify things. So far, it seems to be going well, though it seems like there needs to be something a bit stronger to help.
Belief in something gives it power. Names give it power. As such, refrain from giving the forest/the creature/the entity a true "name" of any kind. It's recommended to swap out the vague reference you use. Vice versa for our Guardians - please use their names, and believe in them intrinsically when we require their assistance. Mizuki has recommended before that we sing to Zahliya when he purifies things. Songs of protection and such might do us some good, I think. Just remember not to wish for things too frequently, only if it's absolutely necessary.
It considers us toys. When it gets bored, which so far has been every handful of weeks or so, it will play games with us of some kind, as you may have noticed with the race. They seem to vary in intensity. Residents were trapped inside a volcano and meant to get to the top before else risk burning alive… and it also seems to know what our absolute worst fears are, respectively. It will get in your head. Don't give it that opportunity.
It is not a god, but it does possess a great deal of power, somehow. Finding the source of this may be vital, as it is a chaotic nature with a child-like, sadistic personality, which is a deadly combination.
Aldric's Manor is a place where Heimr's kids are currently. We can't get to it, but the children inside do have a notebook, and we hope they'll try to communicate with us. One of his children… There's a grave outside for her. Do not do anything disrespectful by it.
There's a part of the forest where you might find people you know, but as trees. It's… very upsetting there. Refrain from visiting it too frequently.
The Garden is where you'll end up if you die. Nene brings you back if you do end up here. Do not die. Do not end up here. Coming back will have you giving up something important.
The River is where the River Guardian is. Return any remains of the fish we eat from there back to it after we're able to fish there again. Thank the River Guardian when you take apples from the tree nearby there, and thank Moder when you take berries from the bush near it. Do not take bones from the river without permission. Be kind to the river's inhabitants, and don't dump any trash into the water.
The Well The well water will always stay clean. Don't go dumping garbage into it, of course, but know that the water there is safe to drink regardless of what happens, it seems. Also, the well is completely bottomless, so if you can't breathe underwater, I don't recommend trying to swim down it. Mizuki tried to, but at a certain point it felt like something was pushing him back.
The Burnt Part of Town and Other Expansions — The Grove, prior to stuff going awry, was a sizeable place, so we're likely to explore more areas as a "reward" for participating in games. For the people who weren't here, it seems to have been "frozen in time". Which also means any corpses that were in there haven't been fully decomposed or anything, so be wary of that. Please also look out for the sink holes at that part of town — it's quite dangerous there.
The Church was Nene's previous home, and a former place of worship for whatever sun-based deity this world revered. It has since been worn down and transformed into something to worship the creature.
The Temple is separate from the Church. Zahliya was formerly a statue guarding this place. It is also where the creature was previously contained.
There's other places within the forest and such, but if you want specifics, talk to Elsword. He has a map.
If you do end up going into the forest, bring a pair of the golden spectacles that Heimr has with you. They will show you a safe-adjacent way into the forest. It won't guarantee safety, but it'll be your best case scenario.
Not outside the realm of possibility, but currently unable to. The creature in the forest needs to be dealt with first, as even if we find a way home, it can likely just bring us back.
Mizuki has the moon shard, and has since apparently swallowed it, giving him the ability to stop the corruption. Likely, the moon shard itself has calming, healing, and soothing properties. The sun shard is able to burn corruption away. Not as much is known about it, but we can likely ask Ydalir about it, and the star shards, if needed.

Reincarnation and Our Past Lives
Our lives as we currently know it, while it did happen, are because of we've originated here at the Grove in a past life. Some sort of ritual was meant to save our souls, thought we physically didn't survive. For the most part, it seems our personalities from our past life carried over somewhat, but overall, it doesn't seem like learning about them in detail provides any information on how to get back to our current home or how to best the creature.
The Residents
The Shopkeeper and the Trader — They lost their names to the forest, so their new names are Heimr and Ydalir. With this in mind, do not give the forest your name. They cannot be referred to by their old names, but Heimr used to be the person in charge of the Grove and Ydalir his sister.

Though, going forward, killing the Guardians to purify them may prove detrimental. We simply got lucky with the first two. They were strong enough to revive. If we try again, we might not have this luck.
Purification, Zahliya, and the Corruption
Zahliya is able able to purify things with some sort of holy magic. However, his purification is not as strong as it needs to be to fully purify something of corruption. As such, it's in our best interest to figure out how to do this so we can use this ability to cleanse other Guardians and residents in the future, like Elsword and Nene. We've given Zahliya the sun shard in hopes it'll help him purify things. So far, it seems to be going well, though it seems like there needs to be something a bit stronger to help.
Belief and the "magic" of this world
Belief in something gives it power. Names give it power. As such, refrain from giving the forest/the creature/the entity a true "name" of any kind. It's recommended to swap out the vague reference you use. Vice versa for our Guardians - please use their names, and believe in them intrinsically when we require their assistance. It considers us toys. When it gets bored, which so far has been every handful of weeks or so, it will play games with us of some kind, as you may have noticed with the race. Places of interest
Aldric's Manor is a place where Heimr's kids are currently. We can't get to it, but the children inside do have a notebook, and we hope they'll try to communicate with us. One of his children… There's a grave outside for her. Do not do anything disrespectful by it.

Returning home
Not outside the realm of possibility, but currently unable to. The creature in the forest needs to be dealt with first, as even if we find a way home, it can likely just bring us back.
The shards
Mizuki has the moon shard, and has since apparently swallowed it, giving him the ability to stop the corruption. Likely, the moon shard itself has calming, healing, and soothing properties. The sun shard is able to burn corruption away. Not as much is known about it, but we can likely ask Ydalir about it, and the star shards, if needed.

I intend to keep things organized and orderly today, so please keep that in mind if you intend to start a fight or anything like that. If you have any question, but don’t know who to ask, I can direct you.
Also, this is Unci. [ He pats a bag near him, and a little head of a baby snow leopard pops out. She yawns. ] If she is causing problems, be sure to let Gnosis or I know. She's a little escape artist sometimes and likes causing problems.

Gnosis Edelweiss-Silverash. [There's no question as to if these two are married. Yes, they're married. Surprise.] On Terra, I was the Chief Technical Officer of Karlan Trade, a business co-founded by myself and Enciodes, as well as Speaker of the Parliament of Kjerag, my home country. In addition to this, I normally work as an Operator of Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company, though I more specifically work within the technological development department. In college, [oh my god] I majored in life sciences and Originium research. While I am capable of providing medical assistance in some capacity, I leave such roles to Doctor Add, who works at the clinic adjacent to my lab. I prefer the technological sects.
Here are my business cards.
[please stop handing out your business cards we don't want these]
Unless in the case of an emergency or the dire need for an informational exchange, I ask that you don't bother me in the lab. If I need something from you, I'll come to you. I have little interest in emotional exchanges.
[Please make friends Gnosis]
As a side note, if you hear Enciodes and I arguing, leave us. We've been married for fifteen years. This is how we flirt.

I work within Rhodes Island's engineering department. Outside of that, you could say I am something of a wanderer, merely waiting until Oripathy claims my life.

I like playin' fetch? Goin' on walks? Huntin'? I'm really good at fetchin', too. Also don't eat the blue glowin' mushrooms out in the forest. They give you a wicked tummy ache.

With powers mere mortals wish to comprehend, and a soul sundered to the weapons my hands forge, you may call me Sesa. I, too, am currently an Operator of Rhodes Island. As a weapons and budding blacksmith- [That's a new one, okay-] -I have the knowledge to aid those who may need mechanical repairs done. I also have taken ownership of the as-of-yet abandoned recreational center, and am working to keep it in running order for the Grove's residents. You may visit all hours of the day, just please do be careful if you plan to go swimming at night.
I also enjoy videogames. Please come find me should you wish to partake in tactical rpg warfare.

You'll often find me at either Elsword's house, the therapy building's lobby, or in the river. Oh, and Elsword isn't going to be making it today, so if you want to let him know about anything, just let me know, I can tell him pretty much instantaneously~.
Also, if anyone intends to go out into the forest, come grab a meal from me beforehand, okay? It may help if the forest tries to corrupt you.

My name is Felicity Morais. I'm a witch with practice as an apothecary, a degree in architecture- ( yes she's only 19. ) -and over a decade of experience as a fighter. ... I'm kind of... a bad luck magnet right now, so it's for the best you all stay a bit further away.
I also have a connection to the moon- when I was younger, I tied my soul to the moon in my homeworld so as to strengthen my magic. The connection hasn't faded yet. So, uh, if no one's told you? Every night the moon is from a different realm. It's migraine-inducing.

You can call me Add or Doctor. In addition to studying the effects of the Forest's corruption, I am also a surgeon, pharmaceutical scientist and engineer, so all health-related questions or concerns should be directed to me. You can usually find me at the clinic or the lab—if I'm unavailable, Dynamo can take a message. [one of his six drones does a little midair spin, hello!!]
Nene and Elsword are both under my care, so any questions or concerns related to them should also be directed to me.

Ser Kiera Canorus. Reconnaissance Commander of the Renovan Roostguard, which is really just a fancy way of saying I help old ladies cross the street, rescue cats from trees, and ride around the nation's perimeter once a year.
I am quite proficient with air and ice magic, though!

As a Specialist Executor operator, I specialise in field operations — more specifically, I excelled in executing enemies extremely fast, crowd control, et cetera. Reconnaissance, scouting, and cleaning operations are also a couple of other things I am good at. [ Essentially, things that requires stealth, speed, and high mobility. ] No, not that sort of cleaning, before you ask. The other one.

It showed a temple, a church, and lake. Aldric's Grove was also noted, as was Moder's migration path and the start of where the trees get unnaturally huge.
It also seems to be afraid of the sea? Or whatever is in it.

Church Exploration and The Map
Or, um, maybe Moder or Zahliya might know…? Unfortunately, Father Wolfwood had the journal, and I don't really know where he put it…
There was a map in the book, too, with a sun symbol where the church was, a bunch of stars, and a moon symbol on it. I marked them on Elsword's map, and I would like to check out that moon symbol, as I believe it might be the moon church, if, um, anyone would like to come with me at some point. If not, I understand. I can go alone.

EDITED WITH NEW INFO: reiterating some guardian stuff
The River Guardian's name is Sinann. You might be able to speak to it with a bone ring.
The many-eyed lizard in the water is called The Behemoth. I built her a shrine where you can deposit offerings of meat. From what I understand, she'll only align with the Grove if we treat the forest and its waterways better than the creature does.
Her father is Callan, the Guardian of the lake to the west. He isn't fond of humans, but hasn't attacked anyone here outright that I know of. Just be careful of him. According to the other Guardians, there was one person he cared for, who had shown him kindness without fear even at great harm to himself. But this person passed even before the false god turned up. I think it would be best if we avoid antagonizing Callan... He's suffered at the hands of humans already.
You can give Moder strength by tending to nature or crops. She prefers offerings of fruit.
Moder also told me that there used to be another sun in the sky. When it was struck down by "a beam of inky black light," the Sky Guardian was also killed. It sounds like it coincided with the creature's release. Even though she's dead, we might be able to give her spirit some sort of power if we honor her like the other Guardians.

phantom's scouting operation report 1/2
I spoke to the Lake Guardian — Callan. Apparently, Sinann's father. Even so, I had yet to be aware of his name at the time, and he refused to tell me. But I could confirm what Livio has said about him, as well as adding a few details about him. [ ... ] Callan's form is...amorphous. During our conversation, I glimpsed a few rows of sharp teeth, and I heard a...rather large splashing in the lake. Some of it, as a matter of fact. Even so, I did not get to see his true form. ...Perhaps fortunately so.
The many black hands that would try to grasp at us - had the fog wall wasn't there - also seems to be part of his form, or at least, it was possible that they were a part of him.
There is also singing coming from the lake. It...will be enticing to human ears, and if the fog wasn't there, it will drive you straight to those grasping black hands. [ Another pause, and he sighs. ] I suppose in that manner, it isn't much different from my true voice. Please exercise the utmost caution around the lake, and in your dealings with the Lake Guardian. Do not let the strength of your mind slip.
To the east of the lake, however, is a cabin. I could glimpse its outline, but for the most part it was obscured by the fog. Callan seems to be angry when I so much as looked in its direction. I planned to return with two or three other people to investigate the cabin. I already have a possible team in mind, but you are welcome to ask me questions, or to simply let me know if you would like to help out in some shape or manner.
phantom's scouting operation report 2/2
There, I saw some massive bones, and its spirit was still there, seemingly asleep. A dragon. It was as massive as its bones would suggest, with scales of shimmering iridescent reds, oranges, and golds. I managed to dig a little, and I could glimpse its massive claw bones.
...The dragon was holding what seems to be a large gold medallion. Perhaps it has something to do with the Sun Goddess whom Beat has discovered. I do not know if the dragon is another Guardian, however, or if it also has something to do with the Goddess Beiwe and perhaps the sun shards, as well. But it is likely worth looking into, and I would propose a follow-up operation. I have already obtained a shovel from Heimr; I could lend it to an interested party. Alternatively, you could get one yourself from him in exchange for a few medallions from the river.
Unfortunately, I found nothing else of note in the dragon's resting place. Not even potential offerings for its spirit. But by the guidance of its skull bones, I found the cabin to the east of the lake. That would be how you'd be able to glimpse the cabin, too.
...I shall conclude my report here.

Corruption
[ A small bit of hesitance before he continues. ]
And there are... spirits, I believe, behind the locked doors in the Inn that carries a tremendous amount of guilt. Pain. Fear. It would seem they are locked there, as while I did not See anything beyond flashes of light, I heard them well enough. Apologizing, scared, confused as to why they were stuck there, saying the forest called to them.
[ And then the horrible painful shrieking... ]

...So that was what lies behind the locked doors. No, he's too afraid to ask. He wasn't aware yet, since he did not possess any memories of his past life here as of yet, but perhaps...his common sense cautioned him to stay away.
Do not ask. Do not piece together anything. Leave the mysteries of the inn and his past life alone. He need not lose himself further to a past that extends even farther back than the already...ghost-laden one he's had in this current incarnation. ]

netbook // idk midway through the meeting, hope y'all're readin
Hi this is Elsword
I'm not going to the meeting because the Creature sees out of my eyes and has for a while also I don't want to
Don't think it can read though
I have a couple things to share that I thought would be worth sharing even if I'm not there that I can't have Mizuki or Add reelay so here:
If you get corupted its gonna feel like you have something in the back of your head at all times trying to command you or talk to you. You get this voice in your mind that basically encurages you to do bad things, like try to distroy the shards. It'll send you nightmares and visions and make u haloosinate if youre ignoring it. You have to fight through them.
If you get posesed it feels like it very suddenly seezes control of your limbs. I felt it coming before it actually managed to get me fully and had enough time to try to warn Wolfwood but other people who get corupted in the future might not have that time. If you see someone who cant move at all and it looks like its for unatral reasons thats proably a sign. When it progreses the person who is getting posesed is going to feel like theyre trapped in their own mind and watching everything from inside looking out. I felt like my conshinse was floating in one of those sensry deprivashun tanks in the therapy bilding. I could see everything happening but couldnt stop it.
I gess those are all the warning signs I can think of. Dont get corrupted. Dont touch the fog wall dont touch the black plants or thorny vines or anything like that. Dont let the creature win.
And also if I get posesed again do me a favour and just kill me this time. Thanks

Are you okay physically? [He knows he is not. Okay mentally, so he won't ask that.] I know you are with Mizuki and Add currently.
