[ After scribbling all over the network Beat will just continue to sit where he sat, which is on the well. That's right, he plopped his ass right on the edge of the well. Do you want water? Too bad, tell him to move. He will then unceremoniously stuff his journal into his pocket the best he can by rolling it up, and sniffing the air. That sure is a fucking large ass werewolf just sitting there, trying to figure out where everyone is by sniffing the air. So even if you don't see his bullshit in the journal, you might run into him if you're trying to get water.
Come say hi, he's a good boy. Even if you don't, the moment he zones in on your scent, he might be locking eyes with you. Even if he can't see you, if he can smell you he's going to stare.
It's fine, that tail wag says he's friendly. ]

[HUFF!!!]
different gods same shit yo
uh wait you mean you can turn into a monster here too?

There is a man here dealing with the corruption of the Forest, by my understanding.
Never mind the shadowy folk that run the shops. They were more human, once.

[Is it weird that Luca doesn't seem surprised? Maybe, maybe not.]
Where did you say you were from again.

Prolly ain't hearda the place, yo. We all called it Ryslig, I dunno if that was the actual name of the pen'sula or jus' like a whatever this is what we call it now sort of thing.

The common experience is... curious, to say the least.
no subject
i dunno if i look like a typical werewolf tho you know i dont think im super scary looking

In truth, I could not tell you if you looked like the werewolves of my world or not. I did not make a point of treading through their lands, and if I did, I seldom ventured out at night. I wasn't going to make an enemy of the locals, you see.

oh
i mean everythin i know bout werewolves is like we cool if you wanna visit like ye we got territory but we aint gonna be pissed if you pass through
wanna see what i look like??
no subject
Though I more meant where you were originally from. Or any tales you may have. If that's not too much to ask.
That is not necessarily the case of the weres I am familiar with. They were fierce protectors, a standing army against the night, all at the behest of their diurnal... goddess. Many were known for their violence, especially after manifesting their Blessings.

[Josh will get yelled at to come write in the journal.]
oh... ngl somethin similar can happen with us. summa us got super fucked with the moon cycles an when the full moon comes around we get like way stronger but also like way more feral an shit
plus if we get too hungry we go insane an become super violent an attack everything an anything
no subject
[He's not holding his breath, but thanks, Beat!]
It's unfortunate to hear such patterns are common. Though I cannot say I'm particularly surprised, either.
... You have to feed as a werewolf? Dare I ask on what?
no subject
i dont really know if you wanna know yo...

Interested in werewolf lore, I hear?
In the world we come from, werewolves are fictional. That being said, being fictional, they are often used as a metaphor for a large variety of things. I've heard theories that they represent anything from man's struggle with masculinity to mental illness. Transformation often comes in tandem with the full moon, though there are some varieties that seem to be more in control during the rest of the month and out of control during the full moon, or other slight variations thereof. Common weaknesses are silver and wolfsbane. Lycanthropy is typically contracted via being bitten by a werewolf, although there are some versions of the tale where it is simply something that a person is born with.
Any questions?

So there are a few similarities from what I am familiar with then. They are very real in my world. Additionally, weres of my world are not bitten, but chosen by their Beast. However, the weaknesses line up, as do the lunar cycles.
Thank you for this information. Truly.

The gods of my home are referred to as Beasts. There are five of them, one for each country — save our eastern neighbors of Venatus. They wound up with two, somehow. The Beasts once waged war against themselves, at the expense of the land and their people. In order to continue their feuds, they opted to gift portions of their power to their people. This is a Blessing, and Weres are the recipients of such a gift.

I see. So it's a godly boon more than the curse that most modern werewolf media portrays it as being. Interesting take.
