December FamMeet
Who: The Grove
What: Town Hall
When: Mid-Late December
Where: Inn Lobby
Warnings: Child death mentions, torture, body horror all probably will be brought up.
[ In the morning, Irene will trek around the Grove to knock on doors and let everyone know she's setting up a information sharing meeting in the Inn's lobby. She figures there would be best, considering the new fireplace (thread pending on my behalf) set up and the fact it's about as safe as they're going to get.
Irene also lets everyone know that any fights and any blatant drama starters will be met with punishment. She doesn't elaborate on this further. Zahliya is invited. Irene tells Moder if she wants to sit by the door to listen, she can. She does not invite the merchant siblings, however - though she'll make no objections if someone else does.
She seems to be writing things down in their shared journals this meeting so people can reference this later. ]

cw eye/body horror mentions, suicidal ideation, i'm sorry about this tag
[Elsword earlier: I have no emotions they're hard for me to feel.
Elsword now: Hey look guys I found the emotions!]
You're not the one corrupted! You're not the one with the thing in the woods screaming in your head telling you that it can do whatever it wants to you! You're not the one who has plants coming out of your skin and your skull, you're not the one who's been getting the shit beaten out of him for months, you're not the one with the Forest reminding you that it won't even give you the honour of letting you die!
[Elsword takes a breath. It does absolutely nothing to calm him down.]
Mizuki is nothing like that corruption, but you wouldn't know that because you're not me, and you're not Nene, and you're not Moder or any of the other people out there that have been turned into monsters against their will! Mizuki has been nothing but kind to everyone here, including you.
You don't know a thing about anything anyone has experienced. Not him, and not me.

Seaborn are the type to adapt to their surrounding and lure you in. The type to learn how to speak just to devour you whole - I've SEEN that much. They- [ A small gasp. Her eyes sting and she can feel the emotion pouring out of her, but... she persists. ] The destroy and nullified our energy systems - our CLEAN, Originium-free energy and set us back HUNDREDS of years because of it. Our lighthouses, gone. Our farms, gone. Our civilization, annihilated. Cities, towns, people and homes and families along the coast? Gone. Lands, flooded. Fleets, buried. Our land is constantly infested with their brand.
Iberia used to be the most advanced, most developed country on Terra. People were happy here. Everything was perfect. We had a clean energy source that didn't risk the lives of the people around it, and we were developing a way to combat Catastrophes...
[ Her shoulders slumped. She never got to see Iberia like that. But she knows a lot of Inquisitors who were alive in that era who would give their very lives to return to those days. Irene hasn't even seen it, and she would, too. ]
Seaborn took that away from us, and mock us by taking our free will from us, too. I can't let that happen here - I can't.

Did Mizuki have a hand in that? Or are you lumping him in with a group of people he shares a species with? [This sounds all too familiar.]

... There's always the chance someone is an exception, too. There are where I'm from. [He deliberately avoids looking at Vash; that's his part to expand upon, if he chooses to.]
no subject
...
I highly doubt it. He's got quite a list of telltale signs of them. But, so long as we don't eat the stuff he gives us and keep him in check, he shouldn't pose a threat. Seaborn are only truly dangerous when they swarm, anyway.
no subject
Sometimes you have to play nice with people you don't trust for the common good. Enemies or not, we're all stuck with each other, and there are bigger threats around.
a nat 1.... @ investigation lol
Presuming the hivemind can hold a network of its own - he does exhibit signs similar to entities in my own realm that are called Foreigners. People who are possessed by a portion of outer world gods, using them as a vessel to push themselves into the universe they wish to invade. [ The Knight draws a pause, unmoving as he stands there before them both. His weapon gone by this point. ]
That aside, Mizuki has exhibited dangerous signs no less dangerous than my own existence. Treating him as if he were simply a child or another human being - would be foolhardy and asking for belligerent consequences. Treat him as a monster, the same sort of caution needed when approaching me or Elsword for that matter.
no subject
Hey thats me!! I am one of those!!

There are monsters everywhere. He doesn't have to be a human being to be treated like a person.
Again -- antagonizing him right now isn't helping anyone.

Many nights erred with comfort and a sense of listlessness - I realized shortly I had been stalked and followed. Needless to say it had been Mizuki, taking the moment upon himself to manipulate the world around me. Acting no less than those jesters who took our things only a month before. [ He moves now, an arm pointing towards where Mizuki ran off to. ] When approached on it, and asked what it is he was intending with his foul manners. The entity - Mizuki, told to me he was quelling his interests and understanding the realm around him.
With no concern for boundaries, or respect of those around him.
He does this again, by feeding you and those around the grove. Parts of himself, without asking consent in doing so.
[ At that point he moves his hand back to his side. He is angry yes, but still in the way he speaks. ]
What more do you want? His actions border that of crimes, and when you try to tell him he is wrong. He acts no less like a child.
Do you understand, where the danger lays now?
no subject
[Deep breaths.]
But the other stuff? It sounds to me like he's immature.
I haven't denied that he has the potential to be dangerous. I'm sure every one of us does. But are you so confident that he'll try to kill us all as to make an enemy of someone none of us can actually get away from?
no subject
He is an entity, with great power.
And the immaturity of a child, with no care for humankind around him other than his pathetic attempts at trying. Causing more harm than good.
[ He leans back, half done talking to someone he feels lacks years of knowledge over countries, enemies, wars, etc that Lancelot feels he has over the others. ]
The lot of you best be able to handle what consequence comes, when you let a wolf lay with sheep.
no subject
I may not be willing to divulge my life story to you, but that doesn't mean it was easy. I'm not ignorant to consequences.
Between the two of you, you admit he's at least trying. While you're just being a condescending prick without any critical thinking in that tin head. If you're just going to talk in circles about things we can't change, I think I'm done speaking to you.
no subject
[ So he continues to say. ]
Trying is the problem, [ Direct, whatever self-restraint the other has. The servant cares little for. ] he isn't trying - in the right ways. [ Meaning, Mizuki wont listen to anyone but himself and then when it is you do speak to him. He runs away, upset that he cannot be anything like you no matter how hard he tries. ] He is trying in his own selfish understanding of what he thinks is right. You can't see that, because he's got you fooled.
The fact he can do that to you, tells me enough.
The only thing needing to change, is everyone's attitude toward a monster - and if you cant - then you're only going to end up dead because of it. Hell - [ Lancelot actually breathes out a bit of anger here, then a short laugh. Feeling that this is the 'humans' he has to protect?
Earth is better off dead. He stops that degenerate thought, remembering Ritsuka. Remembering all that she fought for and still fights for - acknowledging his own discomforts with people are nothing more than that. Not everyone is stupid or bad, but at this moment Lancelot sure as hell feels like they all are.
Distance is created between them. ] you wont even get out of this place.
no subject
He gets it, sort of. Only he used to be on the side of the monsters. And having been there... maybe he does sympathize with them a little too much. Even after they hurt him time and again. Those old consequences.
Even considering those, though... he knows he'd rather be dead than go back to being like that.]
I'm sure you'll get a real kick out of dancing on my grave.
no subject
Are... are you alright...?
no subject
Ah, yeah, I'll be fine. How about you? Seem like you're having a rough night.
no subject
... I just don't know what to think.

[Vash holds both of his hands out to her. It's a peaceful, placating gesture.]
Humans have drained my kind dry for a century. They've been mutilated and tortured by us. Some... some of us even did horrible things back. [He is being purposefully vague.] And as a result, the humans became more reliant, and drained our kind even more. So we got angrier and -
[Vash's laugh is a sad one.]
It's a cycle, Irene. You see that, right? For me and for you.
[His piece having been said, Vash now wraps his arms around himself. He closes his eyes and draws in a deep breath.]
I want you to think about that, okay? Remember what every action brings next. As for me... I think I'm gonna head to bed.
no subject
[ There's no real response to this. Rather, she stares at the fire flaring up in the fireplace. Part of her wants to argue that this is a war they started, and were she the same Irene from a year ago, she would've thrown that back at Vash immediately.
Now, though? Vash has got a point.
... Maybe when things are less tense, she'll apologize for calling him stupid. ]
no subject
UM. [ A pause, she trembles slightly. A hand to her chest as she looks towards Vash hoping he would listen to her. ] W-What you said back there.... Thank you... P-Please... Keep... Saying those things... And... Helping others, overcome themselves... [ And because this was personally all too much for her, and unbeknownst to all. A very sensitive thing to her, old memories brought to mind eat away at her chest. A Fire Druid looking down at her, and saying he would raze the whole continent before he would care to save a single soul over the many. Caoimhe then, apologizes profusely and scurries away back into the room where the rest lingered within. ]
no subject
Of course. I'll never stop spreading the message of love and peace. [He twists his middle and forefinger across one another, forming a heart with them.] You just keep on keeping on, okay?
