Finally the woman falters, leaning back, eyes wide and a hand over her chest. Mizuki's not wrong, of course- she thinks this little hick town will go under soon enough and the kid's loyalty to this cowardly man is going to kill his future- and she'll laugh, of course- but he doesn't need to say it. She tries to recover, but her smile falters.

"If I didn't know better, I'd think you were threatening me, sweetheart."

"Don't-"

"I don't know what your father has told you, but it's clearly gotten into your head. Aldric, was it? Be sure to teach the boy some manners. I'd hate to see what state your girls are in, too."

She moves to stand from her chair while Aldric just scowls.

"For someone who's never been here before, you sure know a lot about my family."

"Of course. It's important to know the people you hope to do business with."

The woman's companions are either bored or amused- she may be leaving, but they're still going to get their riches, after all. No use in arguing with a teeanger.

"Well. We clearly aren't wanted here, so I'll take my leave. But Aldric... do be careful. It's a great big world out there, and if you really want your children to thrive, you'd do right to let them spread their wings outside of this little forest. ... But if you don't treat the outside world right, they won't have much of a future, you know? I know you're a good man. You best do right by your kids."

... And then she turns to leave.
